GM Diet Plan – Do’s and Don’t
The primary prerequisite is to consult a dietician or your family physician to ensure whether you’re mentally and physically fit before you can get started. You should be able to put up with excessive perspiration. You’ll have to keep yourself well hydrated throughout the week which means drinking at least 3 litres (or 10 glasses) of water daily. There might be occasions when you’ll feel like throwing up and extremely enervated which should not affect your composure. In no way will you allow yourself the luxury of binging irrespective of the frequent temptations to do so. Drinking alcohol, tea or coffee will be a strict no-no during the entire period of dieting if you want to reap gm diet benefits.
7 Day GM Dieting Scheme
The very idea of surviving only on vegetables, fruits and starch for a whole week-the essence of gm dieting scheme-might drive you nuts. Therefore, you must be mentally prepared for the same. So that you can keep going from day to the other, make sure to drink as much water as possible for boosting metabolism without getting drained. Jot down your weight and keep a track of it everyday before you retire to bed.
You’ll limit yourself strictly to fruits like pomegranates, watermelons, apples, oranges, strawberries, cantaloupes and lemons on the opening day. However, refrain from mangoes, bananas and grapes. You’ve the liberty of having as many servings as you like.
On day 2, your diet will comprise of only vegetables like broccoli, asparagus, cabbages, and cauliflowers. Taking vegetables in their raw state might be unpalatable so you can boil them. Add a pinch of salt, basil and oregano for flavouring. You can spoil yourself with only one boiled potato dipped in 1 tablespoon of margarine or butter.
The feeling that you’ve come a long way if you’ve breezed past the first two days will give the impetus to sail through day 3. On this day, you’re allowed to feast only on the fruits and veggies you had on 1st and 2nd days respectively. Day 3 calls for your having Himalayan patience and perseverance as the cravings for binging will be tremendous. Treating yourself to umpteen helpings is the only privilege you’re permitted and drink nothing less than 4 litres of water.
You’ve definitely lived upto your expectations if you land on day 4 unscathed and unfazed. Pamper yourself to just 6 sliced bananas dipped in milk (only 4 glasses)-that’s your menu for 4th day. Since salt consumption is minimised, your body’s requirement of sodium and potassium is supplied by bananas. Sticking rigorously to GM diet for skin will make your epidermis glow thus encouraging you to stay the course.
Today, you’ll have the freedom to binge on a maximum of 6 tomatoes, farm’s cheese (paneer), sprouts and soya balls. Stir up a GM soup by blending these items and relish it. Your body’s need for fibres is met by sprouts and tomatoes. On day 5, you’ll have to drink 5 litres of water for flushing out the accumulated toxins.
Continue with sprouts, cottage cheese, soya globs and add vegetables if you prefer but exclude tomatoes. Vegetables will supplement your need for vitamins, minerals and fibres. Also, continue drinking no less than 4-5 litres of water for seeing you through the penultimate day.
Celebrate your D-day by partaking in halved leavened bread (chapatti), ½ cup brown rice, vegetables and top it with a glass of fruit juice. End your day by drinking as much water as you can.
So, there you have it-your GM dieting schedule lasting just seven days. Weigh yourself once more at the end of day 7 and thereafter stand in front of a mirror. You’re sure to shriek with sheer delight when you see the figure (both numerically and figuratively)!
