Marketing for any company or start-up is a full time job. Especially for start-ups not having money in abundance for large scale marketing campaigns makes it difficult for them to face cut throat competition. Hence in order to combat the competition and hit the bulls-eye the start-ups can follow these effective and inexpensive marketing tips to succeed –

  • Goal determination:

    A thought after marketing goal for your company is required. The message which needs to be conveyed to the public should be clear and precise. It should match with the goals of the company and should reach the customers at the right time.

  • Using an appropriate brand name:

    Selecting a compelling brand name is the next most essential step. Any company is recognised by its brand name. Using a brand name which is short, easy to remember and unique in its own way gives an edge to the company. The name chosen by the company should be able to describe the characteristics of the products or services offered by them. It should be easily recalled by the customers and they should find it interesting to be associated with that brand.

  • Target audience:

    The next most important step is to determine your target audience and the focus should be on being able to get their maximum attention to the company and its products.

  • Marketing channel:

    Using one appropriate marketing channel or different marketing channels depending on what is desired to be achieved through those channels. Sometimes one channel can be enough and the focus of the employees should be on that channel only. Steps should be taken to avoid using more number of channels as they may not be beneficial in achieving the goals of the company

  • Social media marketing:

    Presence in social media is extremely important and start-ups should try to keep themselves constantly updated on all platforms available on social media. Keeping the company’s presence on the top search list is important as it would give enough exposure to the brand.

  • Strategic partnership:

    Building a strategic partnership with an already established and well accepted brand by the customers is a logical step towards marketing ones company. It would help the start-up leverage upon the brand and gain incentives.

  • Incentives to share:

    Referral programs and giving incentives to customers is the new trend in marketing ones company. Incentivizing customers for sharing or liking a post would create enthusiasm amongst the customers to spread good word of mouth about the company. Contests and other giveaways bring excitement in people to participate more and more in such events.

  • Solve customer’s problems:

    Being able to find the root cause of the customer’s problems and providing appropriate solution to them is very important. Keeping the customer happy and paying attention to their every need is required. Happy customers can do more marketing for any company through word of mouth as compared to using any other marketing tools.
